HOW THE MODEL WORKS
Transparent inputs. Useful ranges.
Enter a before snapshot and an after snapshot from equal-length Spotify for Artists periods. The calculator measures absolute change, percentage change, streams per listener, active-listener share, and saves per 100 listeners.
The results describe movement in the selected periods. They do not isolate advertising from release timing, playlists, organic activity, collaborations, or other sources of discovery.
absolute change = after value − before valuepercentage change = absolute change ÷ before value × 100streams per listener = streams ÷ monthly listenersactive-listener share = monthly active listeners ÷ monthly listeners × 100saves per 100 listeners = saves ÷ monthly listeners × 100METRIC DEFINITIONS
Name every number correctly.
- Monthly listeners
- Unique people who streamed the artist during the selected period. This measures audience reach, not follows or total streams.
- Monthly active listeners
- Listeners who intentionally streamed the artist from active sources during the relevant Spotify audience window.
- Streams
- Qualifying plays recorded by Spotify. A single listener can generate multiple streams.
- Saves
- Actions that add music to a listener's library. Interpret them alongside listener volume and release context.
- Followers
- People who follow the artist profile. Followers and monthly listeners describe different audience relationships.
- Attribution
- Evidence that a specific activity caused an outcome. Timing and correlation alone do not establish it.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you use the estimate.
What periods should I compare in Spotify for Artists?
Use periods of equal length and record them consistently. For a 30-day campaign, compare matching 30-day windows and retain the exact dates so release timing and other activity remain visible.
Does listener growth during a Meta campaign prove attribution?
No. Release timing, editorial or algorithmic playlists, organic content, touring, collaborations, press, and other activity may also affect Spotify data. A before-and-after comparison provides context, not causal proof.
What is a Spotify monthly listener?
Spotify describes listeners as unique people who stream an artist during the selected period. Monthly-listener totals are different from followers and from active-audience segments.
Why compare active listeners, saves, and followers?
Overall listener reach can rise without the same change in intentional or repeat behavior. Active listening, saves, and follows add context about the relationship people are building with the artist.
Can the calculator access my Spotify account?
No. It is an ungated browser calculator. Enter the numbers you choose from Spotify for Artists; MetaSongPromo does not receive or store those values through this tool.
